As you all know Facebook is one of the top social networking website now a day but recently Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg account has been hacked and few photos reveled on the net by hackers, and recently they post pornographic videos on random people profile which can easily spread by clicking on it.
Past few months these activities are going higher and higher, Sony and other big network had face those threats, and after Mark Zuckerberg account been hacked, so how can we say our accounts will be safe.I'm not an expert, great writer, technology expert or anything like that, but there is something you must know about facebook privacy because i personally think facebook has power to safe us from all those threats.
Talking about privacy, I really shocked to see people with their open profiles take a short tour on facebook searching random people which is illegal or not who cares,but i finally understand that there is a lot of people who actually doesn’t know anything about facebook privacy, security and other things,that's why all these threats happens and you lose your personal info, pictures and videos so easily, in my opinion uploading photos on facebook is not a great idea, its good to share happy moments with friends but its not great, now a days its really not great.i have few friends who celebrate happy moments and upload all photos on facebook and usually there are hundreds of pictures and above.
Back to Facebook privacy i have seen profiles and i found there are no restrictions in many of their profile. You can easily see their wall and even their personal pictures and videos. After all these stuff,i finally decided to write and let me tell you some tips, well its will not safe you from hackers but at least you will not be easily caught.
There are few things i want to talk about and the first one is never, ever accept random friend request from peoples, there are a lot of people who add randomly and then use your account for different purposes mainly one is marketing, I’ve seen a few friends profile their friends is about 600 or 700 and the interesting thing is they don’t know many of them, so if someone add you, be sure you know him/her and then accept their request, otherwise just do nothing if he/she knows you, writes you.
The Second one is update your profile update their security options this may take only few minutes but you will be safe ,most important hide your e-mail and turn it too "show only me" you can easily find it in Facebook Help right under you log out option, made your profile all options to friends only, turn all options public to friends only, tag is one of the most common option and most of you don't even notice it but this is one of the most common thing to know people, visit their profile and do some nasty things like sending friend request or writing messages so turn tag option on, so when ever you are tag in a photo or video a review appears on your profile that allows you to accept or ignore it. Reminding you all these options you can easily find in Facebook Help so doesn’t panic.
The next one is never leave any option to public, your every option must be friends. Sort people in groups like family,friends,school friends or anything you like, it helps you a lot, it gives you a clean profile because your all friends will be categorized you can easily search and see them. Make your all other contacts hide or visible it for friends only. Hide your friends too make them to visible for you only.
Last but not least Third-party applications, i'm not afraid of them but i personally do not like them, instead if you want to play some online games you don’t need to be play on facebook why don’t you go on other sites which is more secure and relible, because I’ve seen when ever you want to use any of them they asking you to give them a full permission to your profile data, pictures and others and i don't think so its a great thing, and I heard that facebook is going to shutdown some applications on 2012 I don’t know whether its true or just a rumor. And as you all know one threat is recently found in facebook, some violent videos posted on friends wall by some unknown source who know who did this.
After all Facebook took a great step in past to securing accounts from hackers and I think they did it, and they will take better care in future.
